Golbat is a Poison and Flying-type Pokemon first introduced in Generation I in Pokemon Red and Blue. It is the evolved form of Zubat, with Crobat being the third and final evolution. While Zubat evolves into Golbat starting at level 22, there is no minimum level for Golbat’s evolution into Crobat. By the end of this guide, you will learn how to evolve Golbat in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
How to Evolve Golbat into Crobat in Pokémon BDSP
Players can evolve their Golbat into a Crobat in both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl by leveling them up after reaching a high enough level of friendship (220) with Golbat. You can increase your Pokémon friendship level by walking with them, using them on important battles, equipping them with items, and gifting them with the right consumables.
Even though you need to hit a level of friendship, it’s usually better to attempt to maximize this. You can check your Golbat’s happiness by using the Friendship Checker you receive from the Aroma Lady in Eterna City. When you reach the maximum, merely level up Golbat once, and it will evolve into Crobat shortly after this.
If you do not yet have Golbat, there are numerous locations you may explore. Some of the most common areas to find Golbat include Snowpoint Temple, Turnback Cave, Iron Island and Victory Road. You may also rarely encounter Golbat in the top three floors of Lost Tower, Route 227 during the night, and Mt. Coronet. If you do not wish to explore these areas, you may also evolve Zubat into Golbat. Zubat will evolve into Golbat, beginning at level 22. You do not need to wait until a particular time or have any specific items to trigger the evolution.
